The Abia Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) Forum (ABSMEF) is one of Wider Perspectives Limited annual SME Conferences which also holds in Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa States.
This event powered by Wider Perspectives Ltd is a private sector driven conference that provides avenues for SMEs and Stakeholders in the SME space to engage, network, share information, promote their brands, exhibit and make sales. Participating SMEs can have the opportunity to connect to large buyers of goods and services. The drive of Wider Perspectives Ltd is to promote SMEs and support them to scale up.
The SME Forums stem from a strong need to facilitate economic development and ensure that the business community is able to maximize the opportunities in their States.
The 2023 conferences focus on African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) with special attention on Women Led Businesses. The AfCFTA ushers in a New Era for Global Business and Investment in Africa, 2023.
“AfCFTA will create the world’s largest free trade area, bringing transformative changes and huge economic and business opportunities”. To ensure businesses leverage on the opportunities AfCFTA presents, the forum this year is designed to build capacity of businesses in Abia State with a focus on women-led businesses. This is in line with SDG 5 – “Achieve Gender Equality and Empower all Women and Girls”.
The Forum will serve as a catalyst and springboard for the business community in Abia State to leverage opportunities from the AfCFTA, thereby strategically positioning SMEs in the State to build their capacity towards exploring the African market.
